How I made over $200 a day in PROFIT selling on amazon with merchant fulfillment. Before I get started let me tell you about myself. I have no background in sales or any experience with amazon when I first started. I do have experience with internet marketing coming from affiliate marking with Clickbank (www.clickbank.com). Please note that I did not use FBA or any PPC on amazon. Please also note that I do not go in-depth on how I did it but just a basic steps I took. It started with the idea of thinking about making money online and not working for a boss. It took awhile for me to get started with amazon as I was looking everywhere and trying to find different ways to make money online. I went from stock trading which was not a good investment, to website niche with google AdWords.
Before I started my online business I had to change my ways of thinking. I was too afraid to invest a huge chunk of money on inventory which was keeping me back. One day I said fuck it I was willing to risk it knowing that I may not make my money back. I asked my best friend for a loan of $ 8,000 to get my business started, that was my best decision I’ve ever made in my life.
Why sell on amazon?
Amazon is the biggest online shopping in North America (USA & Canada). The reason why amazon is the best platform to sell is because there are over 100+ millions of customers who trust it (buyer protection), and their credit card information is already inputted in their account so they don’t have to worry about re-entering their credit card information or any trust issues. Amazon customers only click one button to buy any products on amazon which makes it really easy.
Step 1 : Product research
It took me about a month to find my niche product ( I don’t want to announce it because I don’t want competition). I was using jungle scout (amazon product research tool) to find products that are hot and selling. Product research is the most important step as it determines if your product will sell or not. Do not rush this first stage, take your time and research your product. You can also usehttp://camelcamelcamel.com/ to track sales and other information on the product you wish to sell. Before you purchase any inventory look at similar products that you are trying to sell on amazon making sure that the rank is under 10,000 with good reviews. Don’t enter a product that has high competition which will make it harder to rank up your product to the first few pages. The best way is to look at other listings of the similar products compare the title, bullets, description, and the number of reviews making sure that you can compete with them, by making your title, bullets, and description better. Step 2 : Product Sourcing
Once I found my product it was time to find a supplier. I’ve used Alibaba as its the biggest market to find suppliers in china for a low price but you are required to buy bulks (minimum order). I’ve ordered 1000 quantity of my product which took about 2 months for it to arrive at my door. Before the internet was around product sourcing was challenging as you will have to go to factories overseas just to look at the products. We are living in a good time where you can contact the suppliers directly online. Before you start buying bulks order some samples from different suppliers and compare which one you like.
Step 3 : Amazon listing
Once my product arrived, it was time to create my listing. As I have a background in online marketing you want to find keywords for your title, bullets, and the description for customers to find your product easier. I would recommend using google Adword key planner, https://www.merchantwords.com/,http://www.keywordtooldominator.com/k/amazon-keyword-tool , there are hundreds of different programs online, google is your best friend.
Step 4 : Product Launching and review
Product review is also the most important thing as it drives conversion and customers to purchase your product. The more review you have the more sales you are going to make. I’ve asked my friends and family members to purchase my product and leave an honest review. You can do giveaways or a huge discount like 80-90% off a few of your products in return for reviews. This is the best way to get a whole bunch of reviews. You are sacrificing a few products for a larger volume of sales in the future. Look at it as you are spending the money on advertisement. I did not use PPC (Pay per click) as my product has really low competition, basically I was the only one selling the item. If you want to use PPC get about 10-20 reviews before using it.
After I launched my product despite that it has no reviews at all I was getting about 3-10 sales a day with $15-20 profit on each item. Here is some proof of sales on my email (I’ve blurred out my product, I don’t want a whole bunch of people getting in my niche)
